How To Reach Ambala

As you know ASIMA is organising World Renowned “Global Lab Expo 2018” at Gandhi Ground in hub of Scientific Educational Instruments industry i.e. in Ambala Cantt. We are paying due attention to all the aspects like hospitality, food, live demonstration of latest innovations etc. In this regard we are issuing travel guidelines and average fare information for our esteemed visitors coming from all over the world. Our main aim is that travelling should be hassle – free devoid of any mental and physical strains. Guidelines will be of utmost importance for those visitors having knowing different languages other than those spoken in Northern India.

We sincerely request all our Hon’ble guests to keep a time difference of 3 hours from arrival  by flight to getting into train( from NEW DELHI Railway station)for their onward journey to Ambala Cantt.
All the flights which are heading towards Delhi land in Indira Gandhi International Airport. This Airport is divided into three active passenger terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

Terminal 1 is for domestic flights only. All the domestic flights of Indigo, GoAir, SpiceJet land here.

From Terminal 1, visitors can reach New Delhi Railway station either by Taxi or DTC Bus. It takes around 35-45 mins to reach the railway station by DTC Bus or Taxi.

If a visitor want to go to Ambala Cantt through Bus then New Delhi Bus stand which is called ISBT can also be reached either by taxi or DTC bus which takes around 55-65 mins.

Visitors on reaching Terminal 1 can also reach New Delhi railway station or bus Stand by first going to Terminal 3 either through taxi or DTC bus then taking metro to reach desired railway station or bus stand as explained later.

Terminal 2 is also for domestic flights only but here flights having flight number in four digits land. This terminal has been built to take extra load from terminal 1. From there, the distance of Terminal 3 is around 700-800 meters which can be covered on
foot. From Terminal 3 as explained above metro connectivity is there for reaching New Delhi railway station or ISBT as one desires.

Taxis are also there on Terminal 2 for going to railway station or bus stand and time taken is slightly more or like the same as from Terminal 1.

Terminal 3 is the newest international terminal opened in 2010 and is one of biggest terminals in the world. All International flights are operated from T3. Domestic flights of Air India, Jet and Vistara are operated from T3 (Both Landing and Takeoff). Terminal 3 has all the facilities.

Visitors can take metro to desired railway station or bus stand as metro station is connected to Terminal 3. Metro trains have frequency of 10 mins and usually take around 22 mins to reach New Delhi Railway Station.

To reach ISBT bus stand by metro from terminal 3, we first have to go to New Delhi metro station and then take metro to Kashmere gate metro station where ISBT Bus Stand is situated. It usually takes about 45 mins.

Buses from Terminal 3 take 40-50 min to reach New Delhi railway station and 60-70 mins to reach ISBT Kashmere gate.

Moreover, If any visitor wants to reach Ambala Cantt by Volvo Bus upon landing at T1 or T3 terminal, then he/she should take DTC bus to Centur hotel from his/her terminal and in front of the hotel, there is a Public Transport Centre (PTC), from there is Volvo bus service to Chandigarh after every 30 mins and visitors can alight in Ambala Cantt as it is on way to Chandigarh. But fares will have to be paid up to Chandigarh. This service is not available between 1:30 am to 4:30 am.

In addition to these facilities if honoured guests are in the groups of 2-3 or 4-5 then they can also hire taxis from Dolphin Car Rental by just sending SMS to Mr. Vijay Kumar (Mob No. 9988666999) one hour prior to their departure. Dolphin Car Rental has office in Chandigarh and provides to and fro taxi services between Chandigarh and Delhi Airport. An Innova car easily accommodating 4-5 people costs around 4000 INR and Swift, Dzire ,ITIOS easily accommodating 3-4 people costs around 3000 INR.

Though Chandigarh Airport is nearest to Ambala Cantt but it has limited connectivity as compared to Delhi Airport. Here flights are very less and usually flights are coming from Mumbai, Indore, Ahmadabad, Kolkata, Bangalore etc. land at Chandigarh Airport. Taxis are available to reach Ambala Cantt with fares ranging around 1500 to 1800 INR.
